Headache In Pregnancy Is Common, These Tips Can Help

Pregnancy is a joyous time for all women but the journey isn’t as easy as it sounds. There are many things a woman has to go through. Not only physically but every fibre inside her body is changed and she goes through major change in her life. In the first trimester while everyone is busy celebrating her pregnancy she is occupied with the changes happening inside her body. Nausea, fatigue, insomnia, headaches are just to name a few of the complications she has to face daily throughout her pregnancy. 

Headache is a common problem that we all face in our day today life but during pregnancy it just adds up to the list of problems a woman is going through and the Worst part is that you cannot even have any medications for the same. There are various reasons responsible for your headache like lack of sleep, nausea or low energy levels but what really makes sense is changes in your hormones and also blood volume. Women who drastically cut down on their caffeine intake especially in the initial stages may have withdrawal headaches and dehydration could also add to the list.

While there isn’t much you can do to avoid it but certain changes would help you ease the pain:

  • Reduce your stress level and try to stick to your sleep routine. 
  • Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day and avoid drinking anything 2 hours before bedtime so that you can sleep well.
  • Cut down on your caffeine intake and do not smoke or drink alcohol irrespective how tempting it sounds
  • Avoid all sort of triggers which would actually worsen the situation 
  • Try massaging your head with some warm oil
  • Take rest when there is intense pain

Doing these little things would actually make you feel better and is helpful for you throughout your pregnancy journey.
