Why Prenatal Yoga Is Important

Yoga is basically considered by many of us as a tool to become more flexible and do postures that look fancy in pictures. It’s actually more than that and just because of social media we are getting it all wrong. Yoga is for keeping your body healthy and it’s very good for women who are pregnant or women who are trying to get pregnant or women who recently delivered, it’s good for all of us and can do wonders if done throughout the pregnancy.

Staying active in any form is an excellent idea but if done in the right way under the right guidance, it can not only help our flexibility but also helps us to be more present, more connected with our baby in the womb.

Prenatal yoga is a term used for women who are trying to conceive or are already pregnant. This yoga helps to create a balance between mind and body while taking care of your emotional well being. It is designed specifically trimester wise to help you prepare for childbirth safely and doing poses which does not complicate your pregnancy.

Doing proper breathing techniques along with postures not only prepares your body physically but at the same time also helps you to get rid of anxiety, depression and insomnia. It’s a good idea to hire a trainer or join a good group class designed for pregnancy. Always discuss your health condition with the person concerned and never push yourself as this is not the time to go beyond your limits. Prenatal yoga allows you to prepare yourself for every step of the pregnancy and the best part is that once you deliver, you can bounce back soon to your old self.
